§ 2
What we collect
- Your USDOT number, and the company details attached to it in the FMCSA’s public record — legal name, address, officer name and phone. Public data we read on your behalf so you do not have to retype it.
- Your email address, to send your receipt and the filed form, and to answer you if you reply.
- Anything you correct or add on the order form, which is what we actually file.
- Your IP address at the moment of purchase, kept as fraud and chargeback evidence.
- How this site gets used — which pages are opened, in what order, and roughly where in the world from. Google Analytics collects it, which means a cookie in your browser and your IP address going to Google. It tells us which pages do their job. It is not joined to your order and we do not use it to advertise to you.
We never see your card details. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe; we receive a confirmation and the last four digits, nothing more.
§ 3
Why we contacted you
If you have not bought anything from us, you may have received an email because your company appeared in a public FMCSA dataset as having applied for operating authority — a designation you are required to file and may not have filed yet. Every message we send carries a one-click unsubscribe link and an address that reaches a person.
Unsubscribing is permanent and immediate. There is no preference centre that keeps you on some other list, and no way to be re-subscribed by accident. It applies across every brand we operate, not only this one.
§ 4
Who else sees it
- The FMCSA — the filing itself. That is the point of the service.
- Stripe, for payment processing.
- Our email provider, to deliver your receipt and documents.
- Google, through Analytics, for the usage data described above. Turning off cookies in your browser, or any content blocker, stops it — nothing on this site needs it to work.
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing.
§ 5
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for seven years, because they are financial records. If you unsubscribe or ask us to stop contacting you, we keep the one thing needed to honour that — your email address — indefinitely and deliberately: deleting it is exactly what would allow you to be contacted again.
§ 6
Your choices
Write to support@milepostfilings.com to see what we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it. Deletion is subject to the retention above: we cannot delete a completed order’s financial record, and we will not delete a suppression entry, because that entry is the record of you asking us to stop.
