UCR fee brackets, and what we charge

The registration fee steps by fleet size. What the states set, what we add, and why the steps are so steep.

I. What you pay this year

UCR is priced in six steps by the number of power units you operate. The registration fee itself is set by the participating states and we remit it in full; our service fee is listed separately so you can see which part is which.

II. Why the steps are so steep

The brackets are wide and the jumps between them are large — the gap from the smallest to the largest is three orders of magnitude. One vehicle either side of a boundary can change the fee substantially, which is why the count matters and why we ask you to confirm it rather than assuming the federal record is current.

III. What is ours

Our service fee is flat, or close to it, across every bracket. We do the same work for a two-truck operation as for a two-hundred-truck one, and we do not take a percentage of the state’s fee.

Ready when you are

We read your company from the public federal register, so the form is mostly filled in before you start.
