What a UCR costs
The registration fee is set by the participating states from your power-unit count. The ladder below is what Milepost Filingscharges for each band, all in — there is nothing added at checkout.
I.The 2027 ladder

II.What counts as a power unit
- Count power units — trucks, tractors and buses. Trailers are not counted separately.
- A vehicle counts once, however many trips it made.
- Vehicles operated under a long-term lease count for whoever operated them.
A count of zero does not exempt you from UCR. Brokers, freight forwarders and leasing companies with no vehicles of their own still register, at the lowest fee bracket.
III.States that do not take part
Ten jurisdictions do not participate in UCR. A carrier based in one registers through a participating state of their choosing, and we ask which during the order.
